Benchmark

The Markit iBoxx EUR Covered Index measures the performance of Euro-denominated covered bonds which comply with or are structured according to specific regulatory requirements and the Index is weighted by market capitalisation. Market capitalisation is the market value of the outstanding bond issuance. The bonds must have at least one year remaining to maturity (i.e. the time until they are due for repayment) and a minimum issue size of €500million. Covered bonds are fixed income securities that are guaranteed by an equal amount of cash. The bonds will, at the time of inclusion in the Index, be investment grade (i.e. meet a specified level of creditworthiness).
