The S&P 500 ESG ELITE index measures the performance of securities from an underlying S&P 500 Index that meet stricter sustainability criteria than the underlying index, as defined in Eligibility Criteria, while maintaining similar overall sector weights as the respective reference index. The index is capped market capitalization-weighted, targeting 25% of the float-adjusted market capitalization (FMC) of each Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) Sector within S&P 500 reference index, using an S&P DJI ESG score as the defining characteristic. The index also applies exclusions based on companies’ involvement in specific business activities, performance against the principles of United Nations’ Global Compact (UNGC), and involvement in relevant ESG controversies. The USD exposure is hedged back to GBP.
