Benchmark

The MSCI EM IMI ESG Screened Index measures the performance of a sub-set of equity securities which are part of the MSCI EM IMI Index (the "Parent Index") after it excludes companies based on the index provider’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) exclusionary criteria. It excludes companies which are defined by the index provider as: being associated with controversial weapons and nuclear weapons; producing tobacco or civilian firearms; deriving their revenues (above a threshold specified by the index provider) from thermal coal extraction; being involved in activities related to tobacco related products, thermal coal power generation, the distribution of civilian firearms and oil sand extraction; and companies that are classified as violators of the United Nations Global Compact corporate sustainability principles. The remaining securities are then weighted by their free-float adjusted market capitalisation.
