The FTSE 100 Daily Super Short Index is designed to replicate a leveraged inverse of the performance which an investor experiences when they track the underlying reference FTSE 100 Index, with a daily reset of the short leverage. The Daily Short Index takes into account the main components of performance from daily shorting investment strategies: (1) Capital gains/losses associated with the underlying equity securities; (2) Cash dividends paid by the underlying securities; (3) Interest earned on the initial capital as well as proceeds of the short sale, and (4) Stock borrowing costs.
