Bloomberg Commodity Index 3 Month Forward Index is designed to provide liquid and diversified exposure to physical commodities via futures contracts. The index represents broad commodities of the Bloomberg Commodity Index, which are weighted to account for economic significance and market liquidity. Weighting restrictions on individual commodities and commodity groups promote diversification. Whilst commodity futures that underlie the indexes within the standard Bloomberg Commodity Index roll approximately every other month (near-dated futures), this version of the index is composed of longer-dated 3 month futures.
