Morningstar has appointed Ron Bundy as managing director for its global indexing business Morningstar Indexes.

Based in Chicago, Bundy (pictured) will be responsible for developing and evolving Morningstar's indexing business globally.

The appointment is responding to the growing global demand for low-cost investing and disrupted fee-intensive benchmarking.

Prior to joining Morningstar, Bundy was CEO at FTSE Russell for its North America benchmarks and headed its strategic accounts. Before Russell’s acquisition in 2014, Bundy held the same role for the Russell Index Group.

Investors suffering from ‘big four’ index provider dominance

Kunal Kapoor, CEO of Morningstar, said: “Ron brings more than 20 years of experience in growing and scaling a global index business and we could not be more confident in our opportunity ahead to deliver greater value to investors.”

Late last year, Morningstar also appointed Libby Bernick as head of sustainability.
