FTSE Russell has hired Helena Fung as head of sustainable investment for Asia Pacific.

In the newly created role, Fung will be responsible for the index provider’s sustainable investment indices and data services across the region.

This includes engaging with clients on a comprehensive range of products and data to support them in reaching their investment decisions.

She joins from a family office in Asia where her role incorporated ESG integration, equity analysis and advising on philanthropy.

Prior to this, Fung worked at Hermes Investment Management as global head of client relations between 2008 and 2013.

Jessie Pak, managing director, head of information services APAC at the London Stock Exchange Group, commented: “I look forward to working with Helena as we continue to expand our business in APAC.

“Our growth in sustainable investment capabilities, including in indexes, data and research, will meet the growing demand from customers across Asia and globally.”

ESG’s implications for investors

Fung added: “I look forward to working with investors and colleagues globally to further develop these capabilities in an increasingly dynamic market.”
