JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has expanded its ETF team in Asia with the appointment of Rory Caines from BlackRock.

Based in Hong Kong, Caines (pictured) will report to Sean Cunningham, head of Asia ETFs at JPMAM.

In his new role, he will responsible for working with the team to advance the firm’s ETF product strategy for the APAC region as well as building and developing client relationships.

Prior to joining JPMAM, Caines spent six years at BlackRock, most recently as vice president for capital markets and fixed income ETFs in the iShares division.

His duties included helping clients understand and take advantage of ETF liquidity as well as managing strategic relationships with banks and broker partners.

Cunningham commented: “Caine’s expertise in fixed income products and APAC ETF client relationships will be instrumental to helping bring our global industry-leading active, strategic beta and beta builder ETF strategies to Asian investors, and further growing our product offerings.”

In April, JPMAM adjusted its sales team in Europe as Olivier Paquier was moved to head the ETF distribution for EMEA while Philippe El-Asmar leads ETF distribution for Asia-Pacific and Bryon Lake moved to the US to head ETF distribution for Americas.
