Lyxor has moved to promote David Lake to the position of UK chief executive replacing current CEO Matthieu Mouly who returns to the role of head of ETF sales for the whole firm.
Lake will report to the overall Lyxor chief executive Lionel Paquin in France, although he himself will be based in London. Lake will retain his position as head of UK ETF sales.
Lake joined Lyxor from Source ETF where he was head of sales for UK and Ireland. He had been there for two years.
Prior to Source, he was head of UK sales for investor products and equity derivatives at RBS, having also spent six years at Société Générale as head of UK structured product retail sales.
Meanwhile, Lyxor has also moved to fill the gap left by the departure of Gregoire Blanc to Vanguard in July. Raphael Zenou has been promoted to head of capital markets while George King, who joins as a senior ETF capital markets specialist after seven years with BlackRock and Alistair Perry, will be a capital markets ETF specialist.
The firm has also hired Askhan Daghestani, who joins the UK distribution team having previously held roles at Invesco and BlackRock, where he was head of UK wealth for its iShares business.
“The UK and northern European region is a key growth area for Lyxor,” Mouly said. “We have been adding staff and resources to the region to promote growth in a key market for the company – doubling down on efforts from the last few years. We have hired experienced individuals to support our efforts – we know it takes knowledge and experience to succeed in the ETF market.”
