ETFS Capital has completed its £4.5m investment in digital wealth technology provider WealthKernel.

Based in Nottingham, WealthKernel provides the infrastructure, custody and regulatory permissions needed for companies to build a digital finance service.

It enables firms to develop their own wealth management services and expand their client base to more than just high net worth individuals.

ETFS Capital’s funding will provide accelerated functionality for WealthKernel to build its volume of customers.

ETFS Capital formed in 2018 following the sale of ETF Securities’ European and North American issuance business to WisdomTree, Legal & General Investment Management and Aberdeen Standard.

Graham Tuckwell (pictured), chairman of ETFS Capital, said: “Too many people do not yet have access to credible and inexpensive investment services, because they cannot be provided efficiently enough.

“We believe WealthKernel has the vision and technology to change this for everyone’s benefit.”

Over the last 12 months, Moorgate Benchmarks and Skylight IPV have also secured investments from ETFS Capital.
