Fidelity International has hired Stefan Kuhn as head of ETF distribution for Europe from State Street Global Advisors (SSGA).

Starting 1 April, Kuhn (pictured) will enter the newly created role to expand Fidelity’s European ETF business and its product, marketing and distribution initiatives.

Based in Germany, he will report to Christophe Gloser, head of sales for continental Europe at Fidelity.

Kuhn joins from SSGA where he spent the last three years as head of its SPDR ETFs division in Germany following two years as head of ETF sales for German-speaking Europe at Lyxor.

Prior to this, he held roles at BNP Paribas, Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan covering flow rates for more than 16 years.

Commenting on the hire, Christian Machts, chief administrative officer for Europe at Fidelity International, said: “Kuhn is a highly experienced ETF expert and knows the European market exceptionally well.

“We welcome his decision to join Fidelity, further strengthening our ETF team. His extensive experience will play an important role as we continue to expand our ETF sales across Europe.”

Gloser added: “Our clients appreciate the fact we are expanding our offering in areas such as ETFs, private assets and digital assets in addition to the classic fund products. We will continue along this path in the coming months and years."

Over the past year, the firm has made fresh inroads into fixed-income ETFs and cryptocurrencies with the launch of a bitcoin exchange-traded product in February.
