Franklin Templeton has appointed Silvia Anselmi as an ETF sales specialist to grow the firm’s LibertyShares platform in Italy.

Based in Milan, Anselmi (pictured) will be responsible for the continued development of the firm’s UCITS ETF platform among family offices and independent financial advisers (IFAs).

She will report to senior ETF sales specialist Demis Todeschini.

Anselmi joins with eight years of experience in financial services, most recently at PIMCO where she spent three years as an account management associate for institutional clients.

Prior to this, she spent over four years at Borsa Italiana in an ETF trading surveillance role.

Caroline Baron, head of ETF business development EMEA, said: “Silvia’s appointment demonstrates our commitment to investing in strong talent to support the growth of our business and service clients in this strategically important market.”

Todeschini added: “I am delighted that Silvia has joined our team as we continue to expand our ETF business in Italy where we see strong demand for ETF solutions.

“In her new role, she will focus on growing our business in the family offices and independent financial advisor segments of the Italian market.”

The US giant entered the European market in 2017 and has since expanded across the continent.

Last September, the firm registered its 16-strong UCITS ETF range in France while listing eight of the suite on Euronext Amsterdam.

In September 2018, the US ETF provider extended its European offering after listing the Franklin LibertyQ European Equity UCITS ETF (FVUE) across major European exchanges.

A year later the suite was expanded into the Nordics for investors in Denmark, Finland and Sweden.
