Invesco poaches Assaffar from Amundi for BD role

Scott Longley

Invesco has moved to strengthen its London-based business development team by adding Hamid Asseffar who will focus on the company's growing ETF business with UK asset managers and family offices.

Asseffar joins from Amundi where until recently he was a sales and marketing associate within the ETF, indexing and smart beta team.

He will report to Ravinder Azad at Invesco.

Prior to working at Amundi, Asseffar worked in the trading strategy team at Credit Suisse in London.

Invesco has been expanding its London-based ETF team in recent months. In September it announced it had added two hires in its ETF portfolio management team, Wayne Parker and Deepak Bharti, to help meet strong investor demand for fixed income ETFs.

Commenting on Asseffar's appointment, Kate Dwyer, head of UK ETF business development at Invesco, said: "We are seeing strong, continued demand among our UK institutional clients, including asset managers and family offices, for our suite of low-cost ETFs and it is vital that we have the right people and capability to service this demand."
