Jane Street appoints van Leeuwen to sales and trading team from HANetf

Jane Street has appointed HANetf’s director of sales for the Benelux region Rick van Leeuwen to its sales and trading team.

Based in Holland, the ETF veteran joins the market maker having spent a year and a half in the HANetf having joined the firm in June 2020.

Prior to this, spent three years as head of institutional trading at IMC for three years – in what was his second stint at the firm – before it decided to close its equities and ETF trading business in Europe last November.

His first stint lasted six years, starting out as a junior screen trader in 2008 before leaving as a senior trader for index options in 2014.

Following this, he spent two and a half years as an executive director for capital markets at ETF provider Source ETF.

Earlier this month, HANetf appointed Robin Kooijman as head of Benelux ETF sales from Lyxor following van Leeuwen’s departure.
