ETF Stream is excited to announce that Nobel Prize winner Professor Robert Shiller will be joining this year’s ETF Ecosystem Unwrapped – Europe’s largest ETF event – as the closing keynote speaker for Day 1 on 24 May.

The world-renowned professor will be interviewed by ETF Stream’s founder David Stevenson on numerous issues including the current state of markets, the advantages of combining value with ESG, and the market impact of Russia’s war with Ukraine.

Shiller (pictured) has been devoted to the field of economics for over half a century. He is Sterling Professor of Economics, Professor of Finance, and Fellow at the International Centre for Finance at Yale University and was jointly awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.

Shiller is one of the most important economists of our time. He challenged the widely accepted view that markets are inherently rational and was one of the few people to accurately predict the ‘dot-com’ crash of 2000-2002 and the US housing market bubble of the mid-2000s.

Furthermore, he co-created the Case-Shiller Index to track changes in house prices across the US. He also developed the Cyclically Adjusted Price Earnings (CAPE) ratio with John Campbell which is used to gauge whether a stock or market is over or undervalued.

In addition to Shiller, attendees can look forward to hearing from other phenomenal speakers at this year’s ETF Ecosystem Unwrapped. The line-up includes Joachim Klement, investment strategist and ESG specialist at Liberum, who will be discussing stagflation with Stevenson during the lunch workshop on Day 1.

Charlie Robertson, global chief economist at Renaissance Capital, will explore whether it is time to rethink emerging markets for the afternoon’s fireside chat and Tilman Lauder, head of securities at the European Commission, will deliver Day 2’s opening keynote on the European Commission’s plans to implement a consolidated tape in Europe.

Finally, Catharine Dwyer, senior policy advisor at the Central Bank of Ireland, will deliver an ETF update from the Central Bank of Ireland for Day 2’s closing keynote.

Taking place on 24-26 May, Europe’s largest ETF event, ETF Ecosystem Unwrapped, will cover some of the most important issues facing investors (Day 1) and the ecosystem (Day 2). Join us for a series of keynotes, fireside chats, and panels with the brightest minds from across the industry.
