Rize ETF has hired Florian Berberich as associate director for Germany, Austria and Switzerland from Bloomberg, its first appointment since Martin Gilbert’s AssetCo purchased a majority stake in the firm.

In his new role, Berberich (pictured) will assist in Rize ETF’s growth in the German-speaking market by building relationships with clients who are current or potential buyers of the firm’s ETFs.

Based in London, he will report directly to the firm’s founders.

During his time at Bloomberg, he spent two years as a financial products sales account manager for the DACH region, focusing on south Germany.

Prior to this, he worked as an analyst at Third Bridge for a year.

Commenting on the appointment, Rahul Bhushan, co-founder of Rize, said: "Germany, Austria and Switzerland represents a key market for us and it is great to have Florian joining the team.

“His efforts, alongside our existing team, will no doubt help position us well for our next phase of growth.”

Last July, the firm appointedPatrik Engström as its new associate director of European business development, with a focus on clients in Nordic and German-speaking countries.
