Data provider Ultumus has hired Daniel Hodgetts as index operations head from Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM).

In his new role, Hodgetts (pictured) will lead the firm’s index and ETF support team based in London and Singapore.

He is responsible for assisting in the support of key clients as the firm rolls out its data managed data service.

Hodgetts spent four years at LGIM in a number of roles starting off as an index data analyst in 2015 before being promoted to index data supervisor in 2017.

Prior LGIM, he was a business data analyst at M&G between 2014 and 2015. He also worked as an index analyst at FTSE Russell for three years before moving to S&P.

Bernie Thurston, CEO of Ultumus, commented: “Daniel brings a detailed knowledge and management experience which will be fundamental to the team as we continue to grow and develop the business in this exciting and fast-moving sector.”

Hodgetts added: “When I was looking for my next challenge, it was important that I joined a firm that had a vision and strategy, are developing new technologies and driving change in the asset management sector.

“Ultumus provides me with the opportunity to work on the best and most modern data architecture, free from the legacy dependencies that other providers in the sector struggle with.”

The hire follows the appointment of Femi Orangun as a solutions architect from IHS Markit in June.
