Vanguard Australia has promoted BalajiGopal, its head of ETF product strategy, to head up its personal investor platform.

The personal investor platform provides free ETF brokerage on Vanguard's funds and allows mum and dad investors a cheaper way in to Vanguard's wholesale funds, which often come with minimums of $500,000.

It also allows Australians to buy the full gamut of ASX 200 shares, meaning it also effectively offers a discount brokerage service.

Frank Kolimago (pictured), head of Vanguard Australia, commented: “Balaji is well known to many through his work leading Vanguard Australia’s product strategy team in long-term product planning, research, development and implementation.

“His deep experience in product implementation and execution strategy is the perfect mix of skills for our next head of personal investor as we continue to challenge the status quo and provide Australian investors with more high value products and experiences.”
