IWD bell ringing

To commemorate International Women's Day (IWD), Women in ETFs have been ringing the opening and closing bells at stock exchanges across the globe.

In London, Women in ETFs rang the bell for gender equality yesterday at the exchange network Cboe’s offices.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women while serving as a reminder of the work that still needs to be done.

The theme for this year’s IWD is ‘Inspire Inclusion’, which spotlights the promotion of diversity in leadership and decision-making positions.

Extending this, championing inclusion means that organisations and communities can use a range of perspectives which can lead to better decision-making and innovation.

Speaking at the Women in ETFs bell ringing event in London, Roxane Sanguinetti, co-head of Women in ETFs London Chapter, said: “The organisation's goal is to champion both men and women in and outside of the industry, and the goal is to make sure that people meet and network to support all areas.

“It has been really good to see both women and men in the community, and we are very good allies. Within financial services, ETFs is an industry that is very supportive of diversity and it shows when you attend the events.”

Women in ETFs was founded in January 2014 and brings together over 10,000 women and male allies across the ETFs ecosystem.

The organisation has chapters across the US, Asia Pacific, Canada and EMEA.
