21Shares has hired Gurjeet Kundi as managing director and head of trading from Mizuho.

Based in London, Kundi joins with over two decades’ experience in the ETF industry including two years as head of cross-asset ETF trading at Mizuho.

Prior to this, he spent four years as head of ETFs and delta one flow trading at Bank of America, six years as head of ETF and synthetic equity trading at Deutsche Bank and eight years in ETF market making at UniCredit.

Commenting on the hire, 21Shares CEO and co-founder Hany Rashwan, said: “We are excited to have Gurjeet join our team, his vast experience in institutional finance will strengthen our ability to serve as a bridge for investors into the crypto market.”

The appointment follows the departure of the firm’s previous managing director Laurent Kssis who left last September.

21Shares have been active with new launches, having debuted seven exchange-traded products (ETP) spanning terra, cosmos, save, chainlink, uniswap, NFTs and the metaverse so far in 2022.
