7IM’s senior investment manager Peter Sleep is set to depart next month after 17 years at the firm, ETF Stream can reveal.

Sleep (pictured), who is a member of ETF Stream’s ETF Buyers Club, will leave 7IM on 8 April, having joined the UK wealth manager in April 2007.

A year after his arrival, he was the founding portfolio manager of 7IM’s asset allocated passive (AAP) funds range, which now houses $2.7bn assets under management (AUM) across six portfolios.

The long-standing fund selector is also the lead portfolio manager on 7IM’s discretionary fund management (DFM) passive range – housing almost $800m AUM – and is responsible for fund selection at the firm, with a focus on equity products.

7IM has yet to confirm Sleep's replacement.

Prior to joining 7IM, he spent two years as an analyst at MF Global and 13 years at Citi including roles as an analyst for Citigroup Global Asset Management and as a portfolio manager for the firm’s private banking arm.

The news comes two months after Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board completed its acquisition of a majority stake in 7IM.
