First it was smart beta then thematics and ESG. Now, the active boom is well underway in the ETF market as issuers jostle for position in an increasingly crowded space.

According to data from Bloomberg Intelligence, there are currently 101 active ETFs listed in Europe with $25bn assets under management (AUM), up from $12bn in 2019. Furthermore, this year’s Global ETF Investor survey from Brown Brothers Harriman found 32% of European investors are looking to increase their allocation to active ETFs over the next 12 months...
