BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has strengthened its Swiss-based ETF sales team with the appointment of Kay Winistörfer as ETF sales specialist for Switzerland.

In a newly created role, Winistörfer (pictured) will be based in Zurich and will report to Claus Hecher, regional ETF head of sales for the DACH region and Scandinavia and locally to Ariane Dehn, country head for BNPP AM in Switzerland.

He will be responsible for developing the business’s ETF and index fund clients in German-speaking Switzerland while providing clients with investment solutions.

Winistörfer joins from Credit Suisse Asset Management where he spent over a year as vice president and sales manager for the wholesale distribution of ETFs and index funds.

Before this, he was an ETF and exchange-traded product (ETP) sales manager and business analyst at Six Swiss Exchange.

Commenting, Dehn said: “We are seeing growing demand for ESG-focused ETF strategies [in Switzerland] and are continuing to expand our offering, and Kay’s experience will be key as we bring a broader range of sustainable and thematic ETFs and index funds to our regional client base.”

Hecher added: “Growing client demand for ESG ETFs has led to strong growth for BNPP AM’s index solutions business in several European countries, as well as the creation of BNP Paribas Easy ICAV and subsequent launch of our first Irish ETF.

“We have considerably strengthened our sales presence and visibility in recent years and will continue to do so to support this growth and allow us to expand our index solutions range further.”

In June, BNPP AM unveiled its first ETF on the Irish platform with the launch of the BNP Paribas Easy S&P 500 ESG UCITS ETF (SPEEU).
