Paris-based Crédit Mutuel Asset Management (CMAM) has hired Ombeline Michallet as an ETF portfolio manager ahead of its debut ETF launch next week.

A CMAM spokesperson told ETF Stream the firm will launch its debut ETF on 29 September with the primary aim of establishing a track record in the product.

Michallet arrives after departing Ossiam in June, having held the role of ETF portfolio manager, covering quantitative equities and fixed income strategies for almost four years.

She began her career with a two-year spell at PIMCO, latterly as a portfolio associate.

CMAM currently manages €103bn after becoming a subsidiary of Groupe La Française in January 2024.

Its move to begin hiring ETF specialists follows news that fellow French asset manager BNP Paribas Asset Management acquired AXA Investment Managers for €5.1bn.

AXA IM entered the ETF market in 2023 and amassed more than €1bn assets within a year across its products focused on active and sustainable investment.

CMAM currently operates an established suite of active funds with 95% of assets housed across products categorised under Article 8 or 9 of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).
