Leveraged exchange-traded product (ETP) specialist GraniteShares has appointed Gianmarco Roncarlo as sales director for Italy from Leonteq.

Based in Milan, Roncarlo will be responsible for promoting GraniteShares’ single stock and basket ETPs to Italian clients.

The firm currently has more than 50 ETPs trading on the ETFplus market of Borsa Italiana.

Prior to joining GraniteShares, Roncarlo spent almost four years in cross asset solutions and structured product sales at Leonteq, covering the Italian and Swiss markets.

He began his career in asset management as an intern at UBS Asset Management.

Commenting on the hire, Will Rhind, founder and CEO of GraniteShares, said: “This appointment is the tangible sign of the commitment the company wants to put on the Italian market, which has a strategic role in our European business development.”

Roncarlo added: “I am excited to join the GraniteShares team. Our product offering has great potential in Italy and the company’s willingness to invest in this market is clear.”

GraniteShares becomes just the latest to target the Italian market with other issuers including WisdomTree and Franklin Templeton both hiring Italy sales specialists so far this year.
