Digital wealth manager Nutmeg has promoted its director of ETF research James McManus to chief investment officer (CIO).

The promotion sees him replace ETF Stream's 30 Index winner Shaun Port who left the company in October last year and has since joined JP Morgan.

Following Port’s departure, McManus (pictured) was promoted to director of ETF research in November before receiving the promotion to CIO three months later.

McManus joined Nutmeg in February 2015 following three years at Coutts as associate director.

Neil Alexander, chief executive officer at Nutmeg, said: “McManus is well respected in the industry for his investment and ETF expertise and is exceptionally well placed to lead the team responsible for the discretionary investment management of Nutmeg’s global multi-asset portfolios.”

McManus added: “Nutmeg’s investment approach has always been team-oriented; we do not have a star manager but draw on the expertise and skills of a team of highly respected industry experts.”
