Home to some of the largest ETF issuers on the continent, you would be forgiven for thinking the ETF market in France is one of the dominant players in Europe.

While certainly a main market, the country has the fifth largest ETF investor base in the region, according to Blackwater Search & Advisory – behind Germany, the UK, Italy and Switzerland – as the heavily segmented market still has barriers to growth such as retrocessions and poor financial literacy...
