David Barfoot, head of UK, Ireland and Channel Islands at Rize ETF, has left after two years at the firm, ETF Stream can reveal.

Barfoot joined Rize ETF in February 2020 and contributed to its push to $100m assets under management (AUM) within its first year from launch – and more than five times that number today.

Previously, he spent a year-and-a-half as head of sales at Smith & Williamson Investment Funds ICVC and 18 years in sales roles at JP Morgan, including executive director of sales.

Rize ETF did not disclose Barfoot’s plans following his departure.

Commenting on his departure, Stuart Forbes, co-founder of Rize ETF, said: “After two years helping to grow the Rize ETF business, Dave Barfoot has decided to pursue other opportunities.

“With AUM currently at over £500m across our six-strong suite of thematic ETFs, we remain wholly dedicated to building our presence in the UK and European markets and we will be announcing our new head of UK in due course.”

The ETF issuer has been active with new hires in the second half of the year including the appointment of Florian Berberich as associate director for Germany, Austria and Switzerland in September and Tom Barker as product specialist in November.
