Tabula Investment Management has hired former Danske Bank senior banker Markus Lander for its business development team in Germany and Austria.

Lander joins as Tabula looks to grow the business among regional institutional investors.

Prior to joining, he spent two and a half years as a senior banker for institutional clients in the DACH region.

Based in London, he was responsible for developing the derivatives business and marketing third-party offerings in the private debt space. After leaving in February this year, he spent six months as a fulfilment coach to City professionals, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Before joining Danske Bank, he spent almost nine years at Societe Generale, overseeing institutional client coverage in Germany and Austria for the cross-asset solutions division.

Lander also held roles at BlueCrest Capital Management, JP Morgan and Credit Agricole.

Commenting, Stefan Garcia, chief commercial officer at Tabula, said: “Germany is the largest European market for ETFs, as well as a sophisticated market for liquid credit strategies. Markus’ deep understanding of the institutional investor landscape here is a huge asset.”

Earlier this year, Tabula made two sales hires covering Italy and the UK. Silvia Della Foglia joined from Citi to boost Tabula’s Italian sales arm while Woon Kim was hired from WisdomTree to cover UK sales.

In June, Tabula closed two ETFs as it turned its attention to ESG in a bid to follow investor demand.
