WisdomTree has expanded its thematic ETF range with the launch of a new economy real estate strategy.
The WisdomTree New Economy Real Estate UCITS ETF (WTRE) is listed on the London Stock Exchange, Deutsche Boerse and Borsa Italiana with a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.45%.
WTRE tracks the CenterSquare New Economy Real Estate index which offers exposure to global real estate companies involved in tech, science or eCommerce-related business activities.
This includes areas such as data centres, telecommunication towers and logistics warehouses while also meeting the firm’s ESG criteria.
In particular, WTRE is exposed to four megatrends including cloud computing, 4G and 5G connectivity, logistics and supply chain and life sciences.
Chris Gannatti, global head of research at WisdomTree, said: “Real Estate is integral to the evolution of technologies which are being used to underpin many megatrends.
Without very specific types of real estate infrastructure, technological advancements and innovations would be limited and develop at a sub-optimal pace.
“Providing exposure to the infrastructure, powering the new economy, allows investors to take an alternative approach to megatrend investing and represents an exciting opportunity at the verge of thematic investing and real estate.”
Alexis Marinof (pictured), head of Europe at WisdomTree, added: “Many investors are taking a new approach to asset allocation with themes replacing geographical allocations.”
This launch brings WisdomTree’s thematic ETF range to six which includes:
