The Markit iBoxx MSCI ESG EUR High Yield Paris-Aligned Capped Index is constructed in such a way to screen the underlying bonds to meet the EU Paris aligned benchmark criteria. This includes: Thermal Coal, Adult Entertainment, Alcohol, Gambling, Tobacco, Controversial Weapons, Nuclear Weapons, Conventional Weapons, Civilian Firearms, Nuclear Power, Genetically Modified Organisms and Cannabis Recreational. Further, the index excludes issuers in breach of the UN Global Compact or other notable controversies in relation to severe social or environmental impact. In addition, ESG tilt and momentum factors are applied. The index applies a 3% issuer cap and 20% country cap. Further, the index is constructed to achieve a 50% initial reduction in GHG emissions against its parent index and a 7% year-on-year decarbonisation.
