The Asset Management Exchange (AMX), a multi-asset institutional funds platform, has selected State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) to be the first passive funds provider on its platform.

As part of this, SSGA and AMX will launch two investment strategies, the AMX CCF – SSGA – Global Equity, which tracks the MSCI World, and the AMX CCF – SSGA – Global Adaptive Capped ESG, which tracks the MSCI ACWI ex Thermal Coal Adaptive Capped 2.0 ESG Universal index.

The index funds will be managed by SSGA and owned, administered and branded by AMX.

Both products will have a focus on providing investors with a high level of corporate governance and stewardship, SSGA said.

Oliver Jaegemann (pictured), CEO of AMX, commented: “There has been a growing demand from institutional investors to be more proactive stewards in the assets they own due to the impact of certain ESG risks on their investment portfolios.

“In launching these two index funds, we are meeting this demand.”

Jenny Yoe, head of UK institutional at SSGA, added: “Investors committed to responsible asset stewardship and ESG can now select strategies matching their investment goals on the AMX platform.”

AMX was launched by Willis Towers Watson in 2017 and is an institutional platform that looks to connect investors with asset managers.

Earlier this week, SSGA predicted Europe's "rapid" ETF growth was set to continue driven by regulation, investor demand and technological advances.
