Amundi has hired Liz Wright as senior index, ETF and smart beta sales from Vanguard.

Wright (pictured) spent just over a year at Vanguard where she was a senior ETF sales specialist having joined from ETF Securities in April 2018.

She was at ETF Securities for five years and held a number of roles, most recently as head of UK wealth and Spain.

The news of her departure from ETF Securities came just a week after WisdomTree’s $611m acquisition of the firm completed.

Prior to ETF Securities, she worked with the wrap platforms at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management to provide investors access to a broad range of ETPs.

Wright started her career at UBS where she held a number of roles between 2004 and 2009.

Her arrival at Amundi comes at a time when the French asset manager is focusing on strengthening its passive arm with “targeted recruitment”, according to CEO Yves Perrier.

As part of this, Amundi poached Ashley Fagan from BlackRock, to head up its ETF, indexing and smart beta development for the UK and Ireland in January while it also hired Marco Strohmeier as head of ETF, indexing and smart beta sales for Switzerland in March.

The firm is also making a major push in the ETF space having entered the core space with a nine-strong range in March.
