It is a fascinating, and also challenging, time to be an environmental, social and governance (ESG) investor. The landscape is developing rapidly with increasing focus on the quality of ESG data, the role of nuclear in the transition to a low-carbon economy and an ever-changing regulatory environment for investors to grapple with.

At the heart of all of this lies portfolio construction and the challenges investors face when sifting through the vast array of ESG ETFs listed in Europe, many of which are labelled in similar ways but have entirely different outcomes.
