The firm said the reason for selecting the UCITS vehicle is because it can offer Latin American investors tax advantages and diversification compared to a US-domiciled portfolio.
The move brings the total number of SPDR ETFs listed in Mexico to 106, split between US and UCITS products.
Amundi and State Street head down Mexico way
Heinz Volquarts, head of distribution for SPDR in the Latin America at SSGA, commented: “SPDR’s cross-listings reflect our continued focus on Latin American investors.
“Investor demand for ETFs continues to grow, with SPDR assets under management in Mexico increasing over 50% in the past two years.
“Our Mexican-listed range now spans over 100 funds across broad and targeted fixed income and equity exposures.”
