Global Gold Miners Index is designed to provide exposure to global companies which are actively engaged in the areas of gold mining. Gold mining covers exploration drilling, geological assessment, financing, development, extraction, initial refinement, and delivery of gold ore. The constituents of the Index are exclusively companies that generate at least 50 per cent of their revenues from gold production. The Index seeks to exclude companies which are (i) involved in the manufacturing of controversial weapons, (ii) persistent violators of the UN Global Compact, and/or (iii) pure coal mining companies.
